Is Gooru the Google for Learning?

What if a search engine was tailored toward students and educators to make lesson plans and homeschooling curriculum a cinch to create? Now there IS one. Lingo likes the great educational website Gooru Learning so much that it’s the featured site we like this week!

Gooru is a free search engine for learning. This website lets you learn how teachers and students can use Gooru to search for rich collections of multimedia resources, digital textbooks, videos, games and quizzes created by educators in the Gooru community. Collections are aligned to standards and currently cover every math and science topic from 5th-12th grade, with other subjects coming soon. We’re sure that Gooru has plenty of educational activities for kids, learning tips and great books for kids within their search engine.

You can see a video to learn more about Gooru here.

“What we both like about the program that first caught our eyes were the cute, animated illustrations. Brandon recognizes and remembers the little owl wearing reading glasses and he asks me to set it up for him to play. Reading Kingdom makes learning fun and it’s like a game for Brandon….He just loves learning and playing (especially on my computer now).  Reading Kingdom is the most excellent online learning & reading program I’ve tried.” — Jennie Yuen
